Happy National Freethought Day!
I love a good brain dump.
Sometimes my brain gets far too cluttered with everything that I feel like it's a storm of thoughts and emotions. The only way I can get through it is to write it all down.
This morning, for example, I wrote out my to-do list for all things writerly. I was starting to feel overwhelmed by how much I needed to do and I could feel the first bits of burnout trying to wriggle their way into my life.
Heck, no. That's not happening. I've burnt out before. It takes me months to recover.
Who has time for that?

I certainly don't. I've got way too much going on.
There's something satisfying about having a neat and tidy to-do list. How the checkboxes line up just right. How cathartic it is to mark something off the list. Every checkmark is a tiny bit of happiness.
When I finished listing everything out this morning, my overwhelming pile of tasks suddenly felt manageable. I knocked a few things off right away. I assigned deadlines to a few others. And then I assigned everything else to certain days.
For example, I only have to finish my newsletter, switch my laundry (then fold and put it away when it's dry), send a couple of emails, and continue working on my galley proofs for Truthtaker. None of that is crazy difficult. Plus I get to check each one off as I go.
Dopamine hit for the win!
When was the last time you did a brain dump? Are you overdue? If so, grab a notebook and a pen and get writing! You've got things to do, too. Don't let those cluttered thoughts get in your way!
Writing Update
So....um....
I may have a cover reveal coming soon. Like the real, finalized version. I've seen the mockup, and it is GORGEOUS. I loved it so much, I literally cried half my makeup off. I've heard the real thing is in final production. OH, MY GOSH!!!
I'll reveal it here first. Because my subscribers are awesome, and you deserve to see it before everyone else.
